How to Support Us

The KOK e.V. is a non profit organisation and operates for the good of the community. We are an amalgamation of women’s groups throughout Germany that combat trafficking in women in the process of migration and as such our tasks are manifold and demand a high level of professionalism.

The work of the KOK is dependant on the commitment of its members and the voluntary work of its board of managers. The support of the BMFSFJ (German ministry for senior citizens, women and youth) has allowed us to run a KOK coordination centre since 1999. It offers services to our member organisations as well as functioning as our public representative both on a national and international level. Its resources are, however, limited.

In order that the KOK can cover a wide spectrum of issues and do so effectively, it is necessary for us to gain your support. This we need both in the form of moral and financial support,  as well as voluntary work. We are happy for every little bit of help that can be given, and we desperately need it.

And this is how you can support us

Your support of our cause can be as varied as is our work. We are grateful for any kind of support. Memberships, sponsors, donations, voluntary workers, financing of our  projects, trainees or multiplicators.

Membership

The KOK e.V. has a large network at its disposal throughout Germany. This network combats trafficking in women. Within this framework the KOK invites all women’s organisations and private persons committed to this cause to become a member of the KOK e.V.

• Those who support and further the goals of the KOK can become members.
• The charter of the KOK e.V. is binding for all members.
• Member organisations can be women’s organisations, women’s groups or counselling centres for women in so far as these are officially certified as working for the good of the community. Private females may also become members in so far as they are involved in an area related to trafficking in women. Such private persons may not be employed by a member organisation.
• It has to be ensured that delegates within an organisation or a group as well as private persons have the possibility to devote sufficient time to the work of the KOK.
• Members are chosen after an application has gone in and a vote by current members takes place. A majority in this vote is the prerequisite for becoming a member.

Sponsorship

The KOK e.V. also tries to gain support for its work through a circle of sponsors. We are grateful for assistance in this form. Sponsors can offer the KOK ideal help either in the form of financial support or as voluntary workers.

• The possibility to become a sponsor is an intrinsic part of our charter.
• Sponsors can be organisations, groups or private persons.
• Sponsors have the right to attend  general meetings of the KOK’s members but do not have the right to vote.
• The minimum contribution in order to become a sponsor is EUR 50 annually.

Donations

Every donation helps our cause, and therefore we are always very glad to receive help in this way. Your donation supports us in our efforts to attain our goals and thus you strengthen the legal rights of trafficked women.

Voluntary Work

Would you like to contribute your time and personal skills? Then you should contact us. There are many forms of support that we need to further our cause. Let’s have a chat and we can work out how you can support the KOK e.V.

Large Sponsors and Foundations

Due to the immense scope of our work at the KOK we are dependant on financial support from outside sources. This support allows us to bring specific projects, activities and events to fruition. We are grateful for each contact to large sponsors and foundations, who would be willing to support our work. Please contact us if you have not already heard from us.

Internships

If you are studying and in search of an opportunity to gain practical knowledge in the work- place, we would like to offer you the possibility of a practical-experience period in our office. We are open to any suggestions that you might have on this subject and look forward to integrating your enthusiasm into our workplace. Unfortunately, due to our restricted finances, we can only offer this on a voluntary basis. Students of the following areas are most especially welcome:

• Social work / social pedagogical studies, Fachhochschule (Polytechnic College). This can also be used as the prescribed practical-experience period in administration.
• Political Science
• Sociology

• Support all our events and campaigns
• Support our work in the area of human rights and in our combat against trafficking in women. If you know about our goals and work, pass the word on.
• Should you come into contact with a victim of trafficking, give her information about a local counselling centre.
• Support local organisations combating trafficking in women.
• Take a stance on sexual and racial discrimination.
